Archiving Policy

The Review of Law and Social Sciences (RLSS) is committed to the long-term preservation, accessibility, and discoverability of its published scholarly content. The journal supports the principles of open scholarly communication and ensures that published articles remain permanently available to the academic community through reliable digital preservation systems.

Authors retain the right to self-archive their published work. They are encouraged to deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories, personal websites, departmental archives, and other non-commercial scholarly platforms, provided that appropriate citation and acknowledgement of the original publication in RLSS are included.

To ensure the long-term preservation and integrity of its digital content, RLSS participates in internationally recognised digital archiving and preservation initiatives. The journal's published content is preserved through multiple trusted archival systems, including:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) – Provides free, distributed digital preservation services for journals using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, ensuring long-term accessibility of published content.

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) – A distributed preservation system that creates multiple copies of journal content across participating libraries to safeguard against data loss and ensure continued access.

  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) – A community-governed dark archive that preserves scholarly publications and makes content openly available in the event it is no longer accessible from the publisher.

  • Internet Archive – A globally recognised digital archive that preserves web-based scholarly content for future generations and provides additional long-term public access.

Through these preservation services, RLSS ensures that its published articles remain secure, authentic, and permanently accessible, even in the event of technical failures, platform migration, or journal discontinuation. The journal regularly maintains and updates its digital archives to meet international standards for digital preservation and scholarly publishing.

RLSS is committed to enhancing the visibility, preservation, and global dissemination of research by ensuring that its scholarly content remains accessible through trusted digital repositories and preservation networks for current and future researchers.

Self-Archiving (Repository) Policy

RLSS permits authors to deposit the published Version of Record of their articles immediately upon publication in institutional repositories, subject repositories, university archives, personal websites, and other non-commercial scholarly repositories. Authors should acknowledge the original publication in the Review of Law and Social Sciences (RLSS) by providing the complete citation and DOI (where available). No embargo period applies to self-archiving.
