Urbanization has taken place in Binh Phuoc province, significantly impacting the material and spiritual lives of its people. This study analyzes the impact of urbanization on the livelihoods of the Khmer people in Dong Xoai city, Binh Phuoc province, using data from a survey of 100 households, in-depth interviews with 10 representatives, and observations of Khmer people participating in livelihood activities from 2022 to 2024. Research shows that urbanization has created many job opportunities for people, allowing them to expand their income-generating activities and easily access agricultural markets. However, state-led urban development has led to a significant reduction in agricultural land due to urban expansion, forcing many families to sell their land to meet rising land prices. As a result, farming households are struggling to earn a sustainable income.
