Exploring the Impact of Childhood Insecurities on University Students' Mental and Emotional Wellbeing: A Qualitative Study in Pakistan

The mental health of university students is increasingly recognized as a crucial component of their overall academic and personal success. While extensive research has been conducted on the impact of social media on students' well-being, the influence of childhood insecurities on their mental health remains unexplored, particularly in the context of Pakistan. This study aims to fill this gap by examining how childhood insecurities affect the psychological well-being, academic performance, and social interactions of university students. Utilizing a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with university students who experienced significant childhood insecurities. The findings reveal that these insecurities, rooted in academic pressure, familial comparisons, and socioeconomic challenges, lead to persistent anxiety, low self-esteem, and avoidance behaviours
