Abstract

Technology has become a major part of our daily lives in today's digital world, especially in education. Federal public sector universities are preparing students for the use of technology, but this also brings some challenges to students. Students often face stress from using technology and travelling long distances. Thereby, by using a qualitative method grounded in phenomenological theory, this study aims to understand these stressors and their effects on students' academic performance and well-being. The finding of this study reveals that limited technological literacy and extensive travelling significantly contribute to academic stress, anxiety, depression, homesickness and a decline in academic performance among university students in Pakistan. Furthermore, by identifying effective coping strategies, the study enhances students’ mental health and academic success.
