An Evaluation of Civil Societies’ Response Towards Terrorism District Kohat Pakistan

The current study is on an analysis of the civil societies’ response towards terrorism in the District Kohat. The aim of the study is to explore the Socio-cultural challenges faced by civil society during the wave of terrorism and safeguarding strategies for vulnerable communities as well as policy recommendations to minimize the effects of terrorism. The nature of the study qualitative to elaborate the problem briefly and dig out the situation, community individual is facing. The data was collected through interview guide composed of open ended questions and data was analyzed through thematic analysis. The sample strategy was convenient and sample size was 25 participants from different backgrounds (Trade Unions, Labor, Unions, Masque Imam, Civil Society, Local Village Committees). The researcher conducted interview to now the in depth views of the participants. The study concludes that socio-cultural challenges are faced by the civil societies’ during the wave of terrorism. Such as, terrorists utilize violence to incite fear; terrorists use senseless violence on civilian or non combatant targets. It is recommended that religious extremism may be an effective means of countering terrorism, and the Pakistani state could be reducing the Islamist ethos that gave rise to horrific terrorist attacks. Terrorism extremism in civilian society and households has been controlled by (NGOs) or civil societies.
